Credits

Mythex credits split into two kinds of use:
  • Build — the coding agent (chat, web searches, images) and the workspace/preview sandbox.
  • Cloud — a published app’s database, hosting, bandwidth and file storage.
Usage charts show five categories (Agent, Workspace, Database, Hosting, File storage) that roll up into Build and Cloud — not separate wallets within each kind.

Grants

Face value: 1 credit ≈ $0.25 of charged usage. Daily credits (Free 5, 10 on the signup day; paid plans 5) appear on Plans & credit usage as remaining today (e.g. “5 left · Resets at midnight UTC”). They are granted when you open Mythex that UTC day — not at the stroke of midnight, and not for days you skip. Unused daily credits expire at midnight UTC. On Free, the 30/mo counts every daily credit handed out once its day is over, used or not, plus what you have used today — so it reads 30 of 30 on the signup day with 10 to spend, 27 of 30 after using 3, and 20 of 30 the next morning. That is 10 on the first day plus 5 on four more days; after that, daily credits stop until the 1st. On paid plans, the 50/mo counts only daily credits you used. Monthly plan credits don’t expire overnight. Daily credits never pay for Cloud usage. Cloud credits (Free 10; paid plans a fifth of the tier) are granted at the start of each calendar month (UTC) and reset on the 1st — unused ones do not roll over. If you upgrade, or move to a bigger tier, mid-month, that month’s Cloud credits top up to the new amount. If you used yesterday’s Free credits, we email you in the morning that today’s 5 are ready. We don’t email if you still had most of yesterday’s credits unused, if you already opened Mythex today, or if you’ve hit the 30/mo cap. Unsubscribe from the email footer anytime (transactional mail like password reset still sends).

How charging works

  • Build (agent): deducted from your Build credits — daily credits first, then your monthly plan credits and top-ups once the daily grant is used up. Everyone uses the same Standard coding agent. See Plans.
    • A message costs what the AI behind it costs, so it varies with length — and with the time of day: on weekdays between 01:00–04:00 and 06:00–10:00 UTC the same message costs about twice what it does the rest of the day.
    • Web searches by the agent cost about 0.16 credits each.
  • Preview sandbox (workspace): part of Build. Included on paid plans — no credits for the time it runs. On Free it is charged while it runs; it pauses itself when idle on every plan.
  • Cloud (published apps): deducted first from that month’s Cloud credits. Hosting follows the app’s machine size and how long it runs; the database follows what it actually used; bandwidth follows what visitors download; file storage follows what is stored and downloaded. See App size.
    • Once Cloud credits run out: paid plans fall through to the monthly plan credits and top-ups. Free has no fallback — the published app pauses until Cloud credits reset on the 1st, or you upgrade.
  • Paid plans pay half the Free rate on hosting, bandwidth, databases and file storage, and nothing for the preview sandbox. Chat, images and web search cost the same on every plan.
  • Mobile app builds (paid plans): Build credits for what the build machine costs — usually under 1 credit for Android, a few for iPhone. A build that stops on Mythex’s side isn’t charged.
  • Generated images: about 0.7 credits each, more for larger or higher-quality renders (Build). Searching stock photos is free, and a failed image is not charged.
Per-message costs are not shown in chat — check your balance under Credits in the account menu (your avatar), or on Plans & credits (/billing) in the sidebar.

Running out

Auto-reload (paid plans) buys a pack before you get here, so chat and published apps keep running. Build and Cloud run out independently:
  • Build: once daily credits (and, on a paid plan, the monthly credits and top-ups) are used up, chat is blocked until you upgrade, buy credits (paid plans), or wait for the daily grant. Preview + terminal stay available.
  • Cloud: once that month’s Cloud credits are used up, paid plans keep running by drawing on the monthly credits and top-ups; Free published (LIVE) apps pause (their servers stop; database, files and URL stay) until Cloud credits reset on the 1st or you upgrade. You’ll see an in-app nudge. We email you when a LIVE app pauses and when it comes back online.
Before that happens you get an “Action needed” email when your relevant balance is almost empty and a published app with a server is still running — at most once a day. It lists each app that will go offline and notes that its database is kept. Free is shown how to upgrade; paid plans are shown how to turn on auto-reload (or, if auto-reload is already on, to check the card). Static sites don’t use credits while they sit there, so they don’t trigger it. If you cancel a paid plan, leftover credits stay on the account. You can still spend them on chat, Preview, and hosting. Paid features (code edit, GitHub, export, custom domain, top-ups, team controls) lock when the plan returns to Free. If you cancel during a free trial (or the first charge after the trial fails), unused trial credits are removed when the subscription ends. Spent credits stay spent. A small Free leftover from before the trial is kept.

Outside the subscription

Billed separately from your plan:
  • Domain registration (buy in Mythex) and its yearly renewal, charged to your card about 45 days before the domain expires — see Renewal
  • Credit top-ups (paid plans), bought by hand or by auto-reload

In a team workspace

Everything spent in a workspace — the agent, the workspace sandbox and its published apps — comes out of the workspace owner’s credits, whoever does the work. The owner and Admins can see who spent what and, on Business and Enterprise, give each member a monthly credit limit. When the owner’s credits run out, members are told to ask the owner to add credits or upgrade.
